Brief Analysis of Technology and Application of Hot Bending Glass

Hot-bent glass is made of curved glass made by heating bending and softening high-quality glass to meet the high-quality needs of modern architecture, forming in molds, and then annealed. The hot bent glass style is beautiful, the lines are smooth, it breaks through the singleness of flat glass, and the use is more flexible and diverse.
Hot-bent glass is classified from the shape and can be divided into three categories: single bending, bending and composite bending.
For single-bend architectural glass, glass hot bending is relatively easy. However, many manufacturers often work at the curved edge of the product roughly 150mm from the straight side, which cannot match well with the mold, and some exceed the standard requirements, resulting in installation difficulties. To solve this problem, first of all, the electric heating arrangement of the hot bending furnace is required to be reasonable, which can achieve local heating, and the placement direction of the product should be consistent with the direction of the heating wire.
Bending hot bending glass is common aquarium glass and counter glass, the biggest technical difficulty of bending glass is straight side bending, bending corners are prone to die marks and other defects. Therefore, bent glass is also very common, such as spherical glass, turning arch walk, glass wash basin, etc., this glass requires a high level of technology in hot bending operation, making accurate molds, and some need professional hot bending furnaces to complete.
In general, China's hot bending glass technology level is still relatively backward, and the hot bending of some specific glass often does not meet user requirements. For example, the hot bending of oversized and deep-arc glass has a low yield. From the mechanical point of view, the force of the glass is concentrated from both sides to the middle during the hot bending process, and when the force exceeds the allowable stress of the glass, the glass plate bursts. Therefore, when the glass is bent, an auxiliary external support can be added, which can solve this problem well.
